The Importance of Certifications

Today, information technology is changing at an ever-increasing rate.  So how do companies determine whether employees and candidates have the skills needed in this rapidly changing IT environment?  The answer is certification.  Certifications are a proven method of assessing qualifications.  They document a person's knowledge and skill by proving one's technical ability through a series of tests.

In some instances certification is, or will soon be, required.  By the end of FY 2010, all personnel performing IA functions described in the DoD 8570.01-M must be certified.  This includes the military and civilian IA workforce, as well as contractors performing IA functions on a DoD system.  To read more about DoD Directive 8570.1, click here

At /training/etc, we can assist you in obtaining the certifications you need.  We provide numerous courses and tests needed in the certification process, including those listed below.

Certified Ethical Hacking Certification

Computer hacking is widespread and is currently being "executed so flawlessly that attackers compromise a system, steal everything of value, and completely erase their tracks within 20 minutes."  The goal of the ethical hacker is to help an organization take preemptive measures against malicious attacks by attacking the system; all the while staying within legal limits. This thinking is similar to attempting to catch a thief by thinking like one. A Certified Ethical Hacker is a skilled professional who understands and knows how to look for the weaknesses and vulnerabilities in target systems and uses the same knowledge and tools as a malicious hacker. At /training/etc, we offer a CEH course that prepares students for the EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker exam 312-50, which is required for certification.  Certified Ethical Hacker is currently being offered the week of April 19 - 23, 2010.

/puzzles/etc
An absent-minded bank teller switched the dollars and cents when he cashed a check for Ms. Training, giving her dollars instead of cents, and cents instead of dollars.  After buying a five-cent piece of candy, Ms. Training discovered that she had exactly twice as much the original amount of her check.  What was the amount of the check?
