Helping Our World

AOET is an independent, indigenous non-governmental organization with the prime mandate of providing an education — formal and/or vocational — to desperately poor, neglected and forgotten orphans whose parents have died of AIDS. AOET assists children with AIDS and widows that have lost their spouses to AIDS and most of them HIV+ themselves.

/training/etc financially supports the school and computer lab for these AIDS orphans and widows in Jinja, Uganda.

In operation since 1924 and located in Haifa, Israel, the Technion is the oldest university in Israel. The university offers degrees in science and engineering, and related fields such as architecture, medicine, industrial management and education in an intellectually invigorating environment. As a whole, the Technion is committed to its role as the country’s top facility for science and technology.

We, at /training/etc, provide an annual computer science scholarship to a student at Technion University.

The Tamil Nadu India School Fund paid the student fees, bought school supplies, constructed desks, installed ceiling fans, purchased science lab equipment, and built a compound wall that surrounds the school in 2005.

We are currently helping to build and outfit a computer lab at this school as well as contributing to the Caring Institute's 2008 award to Vasanth Kuppuswamy, who was responsible for the school and computer lab in Maganurpatti, Tamil Nadu, India.

This two and one-half day event, held April 2008, is an endeavor to create a space at Virginia Tech to explore authentic emotions as the community embraces the anger, fear, and sadness that April 16th created in the Virginia Tech community.

We are a corporate sponsor for this workshop event for the students and victims of the 4/16/07 massacre at Virginia Tech.
